Subject: IE cookies not enabled. How to restore?
Comment:

I went to www.staples.com and tried to view there weekly ad, but they say my Browser isn't configured to accept cookies.

But it is. I checked in the advanced tab of internet options but there isn't an entry for cookies. My firewall is set to accept cookies. My virus/firewall software is configured correctly. How do I set cookies in IE if there isn't a box to check it in internet options?

As always I appreciate any help you offer.

Joe

Well I thought it fixed it because 2 of the security settings were changed so I set them to default, but still the site I listed above shows a warning that my Explorer isn't set to except cookies. Actually I am haveing another problem with IE, I tried going to www.compusa.com and I got an internal error and the page can't be opened. It seems I am haven trouble visiting alot of websites now.

This is one of them pre installed OS systems that doesn't give me the option to fix IE.

Thanx for any help.

Joe

I installed MS Money 2002 and it required me to upgrade my IE 5.1SP2 to IE 5.5 and it did not hurt a bit other than the download time for it and all the service pack updates.

I do not see any measureable difference between the two versions.

Perhaps upgrading with help.

I use IE 4.0 but I believe cookies in 5 and higher aren't under the advanced tab, they are under the security tab and click settings or advanced from that screen I can't remember but It's not in the same place as it is in 4.0.
