Subject: IE cookies not enabled. How to restore?

Comment: I went to www.staples.com and tried to view there weekly ad, but they say my Browser isn't configured to accept cookies. But it is. I checked in the advanced tab of internet options but there isn't an entry for cookies. My firewall is set to accept cookies. My virus/firewall software is configured correctly. How do I set cookies in IE if there isn't a box to check it in internet options? As always I appreciate any help you offer. Joe

Reply: (edit)Well I thought it fixed it because 2 of the security settings were changed so I set them to default, but still the site I listed above shows a warning that my Explorer isn't set to except cookies. Actually I am haveing another problem with IE, I tried going to www.compusa.com and I got an internal error and the page can't be opened. It seems I am haven trouble visiting alot of websites now. This is one of them pre installed OS systems that doesn't give me the option to fix IE. Thanx for any help. Joe

Reply: (edit)I installed MS Money 2002 and it required me to upgrade my IE 5.1SP2 to IE 5.5 and it did not hurt a bit other than the download time for it and all the service pack updates. I do not see any measureable difference between the two versions. Perhaps upgrading with help. Bryan

Reply: (edit)I use IE 4.0 but I believe cookies in 5 and higher aren't under the advanced tab, they are under the security tab and click settings or advanced from that screen I can't remember but It's not in the same place as it is in 4.0.
