I was woundering if the technique used to get Windows Media Player 7.1 to install on 95 could also me applyed to Ineternet Explorer 6.0? The Technique I'm refering to is here: http://www.rainbow-software.org/wmp71w95.html Or would the answer be no cause IE 6.0 Intergrades too much in windows 98 and windows 95 would have the ability to do so???

IE55 'intergrades' with Win95 pretty thoroughly as well, but that's supposedly the highest version possible
If you want to know so badly - try it and find out - but be prepared to reinstall Windows, as IE upgrades can go horribly wrong, even under ideal conditions
We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the complete works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know that is not true

ok here is the website that is compatible with windows 95. 6.0 is only compatible with 2000. I dont think that it is compatible with 95 or 98 or SE.

Huh? I mean: say what now?
Only Win95 is restricted to IE5.5 - 98 and higher can run IE6 (and I dont know about IE7 yet)

Hello everyone,
IE 6.0 can be installed on Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98 Second Edition,
Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6a and higher, and Windows XP.Here's the kicker; IE 7.0 Beta can be installed on the above along with Win95.
I thought support for Win95 ending and then next thing you know the latest version of IE will work with Win95, where the previous one wouldn't. :-)

Hey there Mesich - well, there ya go, 7 is purportedly the standalone version of IE - but still, it makes you wonder

AHA, very interesting! Standalone, like it should have been all the time.
Sorry, I do not check for private messages

It has to be as after Windows VISTA Microsoft are no longer aloud to bundle Internet Explorer with there OS's, as other companies were saying they were dictatoring the market by giving IE with the comps. There was a huge court case about it a year or so ago.

mesich how would you go about installing ie 7 beta on win98? that would be amazing if you could

Hello everyone,
I am glad you asked mr.spock2, because while hunting up the dowload I noticed I was incorrect in my response #4. :-(
The operating systems I mentioned are for the Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview. See here
.Internet Explorer 7 Beta will only run on a Windows® XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) system.
Sorry for the confusion.
Best Regards,
Mesich
