Is anyone happy with IE 5.5? I was just wondering if I should even bother to download it or is it still to buggy to mess with?

I, for one, am not happy with it! Seems slow and hangs from one browser screen to the next. And I have a fast machine, too!

I have it. Runs with no problems. But most reviews say its not much new in to for the average Joe, mostly for developers. Stick with 5.01

I did think it was a bit faster on net pages but was it all in the mind? One thing I have found is that it takes longer than 5.0.1 did, on my machine, to bring up the Outlook Express page and some aspects of the browser get delayed start too. Debateable!

Works fine for me... don't see much diff. between it and 5.01 though. If yours is working fine I'd recommend to leave as is.

Never had any problems with any IE ver. so far. But 5.5 sucks, big time.

I've noticed that, after installing IE 5.5, I've had problems with Netscape 4.7 freezing constantly. I have the feeling that, maybe IE 5.5 reconfigured some of the DLLs to be more efficient (or, maybe it's Microsoft's anti-competition practices again!) which is screwing with Netscape. Stick with IE 5.01!
