I have IE 5.50.4134.0600 which has a few "normal" updates to it.
I use both Opera (3.62) and IE 5.5
Noticed recently with IE going to the
Microsoft Knowledge Base website that to
do a File - Print that it would not print
one of the "results pages" that I had
selected, instead "crashing" or closing
the browser after giving this error:IEXPLORE invalid page fault in module
MSHTML.DLL at 0187:010623b2Numerous times I tried to print a page or
two of results from their knowledge base
page, only to find that I got the same
problem.... IE browser would crash with
the same problem.HOURS and HOURS and HOURS of checking my
drivers (dll's) and other things, MFC dll's
and VB6 runtime dll's, AND doing System
File Checker (SFC), plus other things.....
only to find out.... I could go to a site
and print with Opera. Other programs could
print. Finally I went to Windows Update page,
selected for Updates, that completed with
the list of updates. Tried File - Print
with IE 5.5 and sure enough I could print
that page. Thus I must conclude that Microsoft must
have BUGS in their "new look" pages of
the MS Knowledge Base. From what I could
find, MSHTML.DLL is just a "video" driver
for IE browser.Sent a message to Microsoft advising them
of their bug. They may have programmed for
IE 6 WITHOUT consideration for other browsers such as IE 5 or lower or others.
I am not about to change to IE 6.0 which
my system may not support (Win 98 SE) and
I don't need. By the way, IE5 is the most used browser (even after all the MS security fixes etc).Hope this helps others re the IE 5.5 ERROR in MSHTML.DLL
Try another site? It could be a programmer's error or neglect to consider other browsers,
and it may not be a problem on your own computer.... lest I just learned after many hours.Note my email here is a phoney.... purposely to avoid emails especially any spam.

Your system with 98SE would work fine with IE 6, but if you aren't having any other problems, might as well not waste the time. Also, just out of curiosity, how come you are using such an old version of Opera? Opera 6 has a ton of new features, like thte "refuse pop-up windows" option and the ability to pause and resume downloads, even after shutting down the computer. Is there any particular reason you prefer the older version?
