Subject: Identifying video-card model OS: Windows 98SE CPU/Ram: CyrixMXII/32MB

Comment: After installing Windows 98SE in place of Windows 95 I am getting a terrible display and only a 16-color option. Windows is reporting that I have a Standard VGA display adapter. Belarc Advisor gives me the same. I used PC Wizard and that's listing 82C204 as the model for the video-card and SiS 6205 as the product. I can't find any mention of drivers for a video-card model 82C204 on the web. Could anybody please tell me which is the model for my video-card and how I could find drivers for the same?

Reply: (edit)No go, Andy, but thanks. The site does not list any model 82C204 and it does not have any Windows 98 drivers for SiS 6205 either. But the problem remains - I don't even know whether my model is 82C204 or SiS 6205! God, I sound really stupid! Rita

Reply: (edit)You have a SIS 6205 GPU (video card) Here it is they didn't list a driver for win98. this is the win95 version but it should work. here is another driver from Video Driver.com that claims to be for win95 win98(it's probably the same file.)

Reply: (edit)Thanx RayMan, I'll try the Win 95 driver and let you know. The second link relates to a driver for SiS 6202 but I am sure there will be drivers for 6205 as well on the site. Rita
