I have/had exactly the problem. I have a ATI Rage Pro. What you do is go to settings, control panel, display. Go to the settings tab and click Advanced. Now go to the performance tab. On the Hardware acceleration roll it back to the notch second from the left. Click ok and then u will have to reboot. This has been a problem for me for a while now and I have been trying tons of stuff to fix because I have found that a few game will not work untill I bump the settings back up, reboot.... A real pain in the ass. I have contacted ATI about this and I got a lot of suggestions to fix, none have helped. I think that perhaps I am pushing this 8 MB card too hard and that may be time for another/bigger one. I would like to talk to u more about this just in case you find an answer. yes i seriously have a problem with my computer at home i have to get on friends computer now just to get online my computer my have a virus of somesort but window that says the system will be shut down of a illegal operation. but nothing i did was illegal so i checked it out and it said macxw4.drv 0015:00000031 but anyways what can i do to fix my computer please help me out

Your video card is set too high, not a virus.You are pushing the card too hard. Been there. I had to buy a new card. A temp fix is to lower the setting on your card. Do not open ICQ until u do this. It is the worst, eats up a lot of the video card, esp if u use the PLus. The instructions are above. The only problem here is if you have game that require the 3D accelerator they will not work.
