ICQ 2000a beta program runtime error

My ICQ program (2000a-beta) won't load and I get this dialog box:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library X Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\ICQ\ICQ.exe abnormal program termination
I would appreciate any help in making the ICQ program load up in my computer. Thanks!
had the same problem. went away after i downloaded the message archive.exe plugin from ICQ. you get it from icq HOME PAGE. it will say newest plugins. click on that. then it will all be catagorized by dates and versions of ICQ. find the one that says message archive.exe. it will tell you that you need this to send or receive and transmissions on ICQ because it stores everything in one big data base. with out the data base, you can't do diddly.
