I have just recently upgraded my graphics card to GeFore 440SE. My icons now on my task bar do not always work. If you hover over them they tell you waht they are but not always work. The speaker Icon does not give a true image. When the sound is muted it still says its not (it does not have the red line through it) Also when I click on start then settings to get to the control window it will not let me go any further then clicking on settings. Control panel will ONLY open up if I click on my computor then on control panel. These have only happened since I have upgraded. Any thoughts?

Are you using drivers that came with the card or Windows "stock" drivers? Have you checked the card manufacturers site for possible updated drivers? (ie; How long was the card "on the shelf" before being purchased?)

First loaded the drivers that came with the card then downloaded the latest from the manufacturers site for windows '98. Still have the problem. As for how long the product was on the shelf....the UK support number on the box is no longer in use...what does that all mean....if I have the latest drivers surley everything should work what is going on with my icons?
