Icons Dissapearing

I am running windows 95. When I boot up my icons show up for a few seconds on my desktop and then all icons dissapear. No icons at all on the desk top. Why do they keep dissapearing completely. I have tried deleting the shelliconcashe file and same results. Please Help. Dave davermc@mediaone.net
