How does one go about restoring an Icon to the tool bar? I paused my internet connection icon on my tool bar and lost it. I would like to restore it because it was a fast way to connect to my internet. I probably deleted the icon rather than paused it. Thanks VJ

You're right... you didn't pause it... you deleted it.
Go into your Dial-up Networking folder in Windows Explorer. Right click on the entry name of your connection (provider or NIC) and select Create shortcut.

Check and see if it's in the recycle bin and then just "restore" it. If not, go into programs, find the one you want, right-click on it and choose "send to desktop". Once there, just drag it onto your toolbar.

Sorry, I didn't notice that it was your internet connection icon that you lost. MikeO is right, re-make it in "dial up network" and then, once on the desktop, you can drag it onto your toolbar.

I have my Icon on my desk-top and tried to drag it to my tool bar but it won't. Do I need to be off the internet maybe to do this?

If you are talking about the Quick Launch bar in between the Start button and the Task bar then perhaps you can not copy it because it still exists there.
There is a vertical bar to the right of the Quick Launch bar and on the left edge of the Task bar; double click on it to make it move to it's appropriate position to see if it uncovers the hidden shortcut.
Or try right click and drag it to the bar, release and select create shortcut here.
