I have an IBM Thinkpad 760 with a cd rom...The floppy was lost a while back...The hard drive is empty...I can't get the computer to boot windows 98 off of the cd-rom because there dosn't seem to be any cd-rom support without windows...The laptop gives me the choice of booting off the pcmcia slot, but will not actually let me do it...Any ideas???

what kind of cd rom do you have? pcmcia interface or cd rom slot?

It is in the combination bay where you switch the floppy out with the cdrom...

i think u have to change your bios setting and boot from cd first ,,,

The bios dosn't give me the chance to boot from cdrom...Only floppy, harddrive, pcmcia, or network...Any other ideas???

try with another computer with a link cable,
select from bios boot from network
link cable paralel or serial
