Hi! I cringe writing this but maybe someone out there can help me. I recently obtained a IBM 760E Laptop. Which I was told was way back in the day Windows 95, but they messed up reformatting it and now it won't boot from almost anything and is missing it's operating system. I have tried to use MADBOOT on it but it cannot find C drive, any help would be greatly appreciated as it's driving me bonkers trying to fix it! *lol* Thank in advance :o)

G'day,
Exactly what do you mean by "won't boot"?
Have you got a working WIN95 bootdisk ? If not go to www.bootdisk.com.
When you try to boot it up, does it make any noises (ie beeps) and is there anything on the screen (ie does it check the RAM ect..)
Post back.
regards,
Elric

Your disk is not formatted.
Download a Windows 98 bootdisk from above.
Insert in floppy drive, then turn on computer
Start in no CD rom mode. When you are left at a prompt looking like "A:\>" type "fdisk". see your partitions. You should have one looking like "C:" that is active and ready to go.
Exit FDISK.
Press CRTL , ALT and DEL at the same time, if you have changed the FDISK settings.
When you are back at the A:\> prompt, type "format /s C:". Say yes, don't worry.
Now you should see C:, and have no files there.
Install Windows 95, or whatever Windows or DOS you intend on using.
