Hey guys,
I'm hoping someone has had a similar experience as this one. I have an IBM Aptiva, exact model - 2153 model e2u. Anyway I'm fixing it for someone at work and apparently it was given to him. When it's turned on, the IBM screen comes up and proceeds to ask for a password, nothing else. I've tried all the things I've been able to find through research so far, such as using "merlin," holding down both mouse buttons, pressing both, etc...to no avail. I also tried taking the CMOS battery out for a while, still didn't help. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks guys.

Thanks Sabertooth...the diagram pictures in response 2 didn't work, but I managed to find the jumper to disable the power on password unique to Aptivas.
