Comment:

I'm reloading this machine for a friend so he can just use it to surf the net and send e-mail. IBM no longer has the drivers... or i can't find them on there page (witch is weird cause they always had drivers for older machine). Dopes anyone know where i can download the drivers... I really need them for the modem/sound crad thing.

thanks
Jim

I know little about this but found this by putting your subject line in Google "Groups":

There may be some other hits (didn't check) but the above looked interesting.

Use the DOS version of HWINFO and ModemDoctor to interogate your hardware:

You don't necessarily have to use IBM drivers...all you need to do is find out what "modem/sound crad thing" is installed, then find the appropriate generic drivers

I think that modem is 28.8 k, does your friend still use dial-up, like me?

Either of these freebies give you more than enough information about your hardware (directly from it). You should be able to identify "modem/sound crad thing" much more precisely, then search for drivers:

EVEREST
or it's predecessor:-
AIDA32

Also, drive around this site for awhile, I see there's a folder named Aptiva. This guy has provided a great service by archiving much of the old IBM Thinkpad drivers, too.
