Hi there! I had to have our hard drive replaced in our IBM APTIVA 2176. Since doing that, I can no longer use the recovery CD on it! Help! I don't know how to get system up and running with out it.

Who change the drive for you? How did you copy the data over? or you just simply plug the hard-disk in? Describe in details what you did otherwise we are all in the dark.

Go to the bios, try to detect hard disk. If it can not detect hard disk, then there is a wrong congifuration or bad connection between the hard drive and the ide bus. If the hdd option in bios has autodetect, use that option. How old is this computer anyway? Processor?
