I'm wondering if someone can help me solve a PC problem...

For the past few days, I've had a box come up telling me that I have an "IA Error" . . . then it takes a number of clicks to get rid of the boxes that continually show up...

The messages are:

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: Baseboard

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: Chassis

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: Disk

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: DmiBios

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: Hardware Resources

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: I/O Ports

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: Input Devices

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: Memory

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: Operating System

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: Power Supply

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: Processor

... \.. ciaKern.cpp::62
Unable to locate component: System

I have tried an on-line virus scan to no effect, and have looked at my hardware . . . one of my components is flagged yellow (Advanced Power Management support) but when I try to update the driver from the Windows CD and Windows live update, it says "the best driver is already installed"

I'm just wondering if I have a problem and how I solve it.

boot with a win98 boot disk.
type in
a:\scanreg/restore [note the forward slash mark]
in the menu, choose the earliest date when those errors wern't appearing.
reboot, after.
in sall my years, iv'e never seen those errors on a system. it could be a low battery on the motherboard also.

These are IO connection errors, i would also do what KKK said and rin the reg restore but i highly doubt its a lowbattry problem, the other way to fix this and its what i would try first is to go to control panal and then system, change tab to devices and reinstall the IO controllers
