Would anyone advise how can I clear the items in the drop down list in the "RUN" window (Start/Run) that I entered earlier ?
tghauw

Hi henryhauw, hello everyone,
Those entries are stored in the registry at this location;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRUAfter going to the above location you can delete them in the right pane, but leave the default entry.
You can also create a script to clear the entries from the registry for you. See this link
for creating the scriptBest Regards,
Mesich

You can also clear these items by:
Right click on task bar>click on properties>click on StartMenu Programs tab then click on the "Clear" Button. This will clear all entries in the "Run" box as well as entries in "Find" and "Documents" on the Start Menu.

Or, install Tweak, and you can configure that to do that type of action on logoff.

Re #2. Note that the Run box doesn't clear until reboot. This suggestion also clears typed URL's in IE.
If the taskbar is full then you can also get there via Start/Settings/Taskbar & Start Menu, etc.

Derek, I never noticed that about the Run box before. Usually when I am using the "Clear" from the taskbar properties I am in "cleanup" mode and reboot during it and therefore havn't noticed the run box not clearing. And yes I forgot about it clearing the URL's in IE.

I have cleared the items in the Run box using one of the methods above. Thank you all for the advices!

No problem, you did fine. Many folk don't appear to realise that the inbuilt facility is so versatile. Dare we praise MS LOL?
