|A bad sector usually means the drive is going bad. But check that the drive cable is in good condition and tightly connected. If that looks OK you should probably look into getting a new drive.|
If you can run CHKDSK it'll mark that spot as bad but if you're getting a blue screen I guess you can't run it from the desktop. Try safe mode or safe mode with command prompt. If you get to command prompt type in chkdisk and enter and see if it runs.
