I need Sportster Winmodem 33.6 PC driver for win98

Go to Windrivers, left side of this screen. You can try letting Windows install a driver for it, should have a generic driver. Click Add New Hardware, don't let windows look for it, find your modem in the list then click Have Disc and point it to your Win98 disc. Or go to US Robotics for one.

I had the same problem. Go to www.windrivers.com/company/packardbell/inex.htm It may help if you have turbovbf.vxd is not found when you boot up. you'll have to reinstall your whole computer again get it then reinstall win 98

Just look at your win98 cd and run \drivers\modem\3com-usr\winmodem\wmregdel.exe that will delete your registy entries for the wrong modem, then boot and "new hardware" will popup. Choose browse, and go to \drivers\modem\3com-usr\winmodem\winmodem.inf Piece of cake, the universal winmodem driver will let you take connection to usrbbs, where you can upgrade it to 56K
