i lost my bios password. if who knows
how to restore bios password, I foget the bios pasword on a system with key ID; #ZFHPZ**-35B HELP :-) Marta
plz help me

Hi, i used to work for dell theonly way u can get the password if by getting through to tech support and ask the tech to give u the password. But be warned it is a time consuming process as he will have to confer with a lot fo superiors before doing so and might exhaust u with a owner credential check.

What happens if you take the CMOS battery out for a while...I think that would delete all settings and when you boot up again just don't set a password in bios...

BIOS Passwords
You've been called out to fix a machine and need to access the CMOS to check some settings. Trouble is, the client has entered a password and doesn't know what it is (either because his thirteen-year-old son has locked him out, or the OEM has time-locked the machine). Nothing worse, is there? Well, OK, there are worse things, but you get the picture.Another common scenario is the forgotten or unknown bootup password. Without it, the machine simply will not boot.
Short of taking the lid off and resetting the CMOS, there must be better ways of getting into the CMOS settings when faced with an unknown password. You'll be glad to know there is. Many BIOS manufacturers have backdoor passwords which allow (for example) OEMs to bypass your password(s) - as they do when checking your machine for incorrect CMOS settings. So if they can use these passwords without your permission, anyone can.
The following lists contain the most common backdoors, as well as a few of the less common ones.
For AMI BIOS, try one of the following:
A.M.I.
AMI
AMI_SW
AMI?SW
BIOS
HEWITT RAND
LKWPETER
PASSWORD
For Award BIOS, try one of the following:589589
589721
ALLY
ALFAROME
AWARD_SW
AWARD?SW
AWKWARD
BIOSTAR
CONCAT
HLT
J256
J262
LKWPETER
SER
SKY_FOX
SYXZ

The CMOS battery trick does it 90+% the time (pulling it) but on a notebook most people do not like to open them as they can be a royal PITA. There is a program called KILLCMOS that will set BIOS to default factory settings, you can get that here

But i am not sure it will work on something real new, worth a try though, its only a 32kb file.
OR try one of these MASTER passwords (i dont know what BIOS Dells use?)
