I have used adaptec on my IBM worked fine but is very hard to understand when using the easy cd side. music and non-packet writing. I am currently using CeQuadrat. I like it much better and it is really easy to learn. I am using a compaq 7940 and a Philips 4401. Works great. Good luck

I think that Nero CD Burning and Wincdr are the best, I have used adaptec, and although it is a great progrma, I am sure you will find that the other 2 I have listed give you more options.

Nero is sweet to use, but does hard drive backups as sector (lotta CDs!!) copies. Do you know of any programs that will do a compressed backup to a bootable CD?

I Use the CDRWIN, Sony CD Maker, Adaptec & Nero B4..
I Found Nero is the most stable & got many function inside... Quite cool...
But if u wanna make a VCD CD, Better use Sony CD Maker if u have a Sony CDRW... Because it can burn more Mpeg file than others....

I have a H.P. 8250i and the adaptec software, I have had many errors with the program, the only way i can get it to copy is to record to the hard drive first, I was only able to copy on the fly 3 or 4 times, I even bought a 56x CD-rom, still no fix.

Can anyone give some tips on Adaptec or Nero, I have both. Now when I try to record music cd's I get hiss sounds on certain songs? With Nero (though it's the demo), my system freezes when I try to make an audio music cd? Is there one that's better than the other? Or does each one have certain pluses & minues. Or should search for a better all around burning softare?

I need a program that will burn text with my
cd's which will read in my Sony Mobile ES. I
have the adapt tech program and when I finish
burning cd's, it spends a couple seconds
indexing and so forth, but I can't get my car
cd player to read text.

i was running my pc under win 98 and adaptec was giving me troubles, constant errors closing CDs (under both easyCD and CD direct copier), errors recording from multiple CDs (it will asked u to insert the first and last CD only and skip the middle ones) and other few minor problems. Patches didnt help. Im now running under 2000, and.....it is a constant nightmare! it locks up on me, same problems plus many more, errors while using internal music player, unable to detect/recoqnize CD-ROMS after uninstalling DirectCD and re-installing drivers doesnt help (need to completely reformat the hard drive)
