I can't stop Compression Agent!!!

Comment:
Every time I boot up my system (Win98SE), Compression Agent runs and gives me a window offering to compress my hard disk. I have looked in the StartUp file, the Scheduled Tasks, Autoexec file and others but see no reason why it continues to load. Could someone please educate me as to where this application gets the command to run?? Thanks in advance.

The program is probably starting from the Registry. You'll have to run regedit.exe and go into: HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run
All programs that startup but are not in the startup will be here.
Another possible location (although I doubt it) is the win.ini file. To easily edit this just run SYSEDIT.exe from the Start, Run window. Hope this helps!

If you can't find it there, try Start/Run/msconfig. I think there is a startup tab that you have choices from.
