I cant open my wav files anymore

The wav file icons on my system have changed to windows default icons and when I right click on them there is no longer an 'OPEN' option. They are also no longer listed under registered file types

Hi, Sounds like your .wav extensions were somehow lost. You should be able to add new extensions to your list of file types from Systems setting in Control Panel. Probably, the icons are shortcuts that don't point to recognized file types. I get this icon with C/C++ files and other nonstandard extensions. I don't know whether your .wav file icons will revert to their former status after adding the .wav extension to the file extension database, but you can always change icons from System settings in control panel.
