i can't get out of 16 color mode???

i am having a problem getting out of 16 color mode it just wont let me ... any one know how i can do this... don't know how it happened in the first place but just turned on my computer and everything looked like a water color... don't want to have to pay someone big bucks to fix this ... please help

Try going to start,system information,click on system configuration,click advance and see if vga640x480x16 is checked if so uncheck then restart you pc,see if that helps,let us know

Check that you can't get the display out of 16 colours first, and if it is stuck....
As seawatch says, reinstall video adapter driver.
START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL - SYSTEM - DEVICE MANAGER - click the + sign next to the display adapter. Highlight the videocard shown, then select PROPERTIES - DRIVER - UPDATE DRIVER.
