Hi there,

I have a serious problem I got some help some days ago but I did not succeed.
Some other people send me to Hackers sights but I could not find anything.

Maybe it is a lost of time to invent the wheel twice.

I am looking for some one who can decode PWL files.

Please send me a mail if you are able to do so.

Thank you all in advance.

Greetings Anna.

I can't decode them but I can tell you how to bypass them.

Go to RUN in the Start Menu and type SYSEDIT
Now go to the file called SYSTEM.INI and scroll to the part called [Password Lists]

There will be an entry with your Username somewhere in this section. It will look like this (where Username is you):

Username=C:\Windows\Username.PWL

Simply enter a 1 (or any other character) into the string so it looks something like this:

Username=C:\Windows\Usernam1.PWL

You must make sure that the file name is no longer than 8 characters or DOS will treat it as an invalid file.

Now restart the machine.

If you log on to the computer you will be asked to verify your new password.
