Dear all, I have such problem that you may help me. I try to enable logon on windows98 into microsoft network by using network propeties in control panel, but the logon screen doesn't come up. Does any one can give me solution about this, thanks.
Have you clicked on file and print sharing in the network portion of the control panel? Also do you have a nic card installed? Have you set up a protocol, if so which one?

Go to C:\Windows
Delete all .pwl files
Open system.ini Delete all lines under [Password Lists]
Go to ControlPanel>Network Choose Client for Microsoft Networks as Primary Login
Reboot
You should now get the login box.
If not try this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Network\Logon username -- delete whatever name is currently there
