Reply: (edit)I assume you mean increase in d/l time rather than decrease.. Otherwise, why would you complain if D/L happened faster (decreased)... Have you scanned your system for spyware? Good possibility. For my money (like in FREE!), Spybot is the best. Find it with a Google search and be sure to update it before you run a scan. Ray

Reply: (edit)Increase in d/l time = decrease in d/l speed. I get what you mean anyway. I regularly download from a particular site. I can tell when the site is busy because the d/l rate gets between 12-20 kbps. When it is not busy then I can get between 80-100 kbps d/l rates. This particular site is often busy. There are many variables that govern the d/l rate you get at any particular time. When I am concerned then I go to Numion Site to get the state of the internet. The site will graph your last 25 visits. It provides an average surfing speed. I just now used it and got 83,049 bps with throughput of 664kbps which is a good reading. The average of my last 25 tests is 462kbps. (I am on cable) If I use DSL reports site then I get 1.6mbps and a storage reading of 198kbps. This is showing the best single packet rate. HTH Bryan
