Subject: HTTP error in Win95

Comment:

When I run IE 5.5, the screen only partly loads -- a rectangle of the desktop remains visible in the upper left part of the screen. I can't connect to any websites. When i run a little utility designed to find my current IP address, it says there's an HTTP error (nothing more specific). I can ping and tracert sites, and the computer connects to my network just fine.

Any clues, hints, suggestions?

THANKS

You might want to try a 'repair' of Internet Explorer. Just go
to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Internet Explorer 5.5
and Internet Tools. Clicking on this will give you three options:
(1) Add a new component (2) Repair Internet Explorer and (3) Restore the previous
Windows configuration. Select 'Repair Internet Explorer' and then follow the prompts
