The recovery cd's for my system were damaged and no longer available from the manufacture of my pc. I also had the motherboard replaced and somehow my harddrive got wiped completely off. I was told to install any other win98 and use my authenticity # , it worked but I cant get any sound and the video is not clear. Tech support suggest that I run a restore on my pc. Can anyone help with this problem or have the restore cd's for my system.

You need to reinstall the drivers for both the soundcard and the video card. You can download the drivers from your sound and video card makers websites.

Well I have an older HP Pavilion PC and it is a HP Pavilion 6336. You need to go to partsdirect.hp.com. Then search for your recovery disks. I got my computer from a relitave and It needed recovered and had no disks. I looked at all of the things and my recovery disks were finally found. They were $10.00. Since mine is an older computer, I'm sure you can find your disks. Your Video driver and sound card along with a new windows 98 OS will be fixed and installed. Those are the same problems I had with my HP too. I'm sure this'll work for u. ~Wes~
