Using Windows 98. Tried to add printer with Wizard, asked me to insert Windows 98 CD-Rom - I did, but it said unable to find the "finstall.dll" file on the CD-Rom?:

You need to goto the "drivers" section of the Win 98 CD when you click on browse. There is a section, I believe, in drivers for printers and HP printers specifically. Browse the Win 98 CD for the drivers sub-directory and see if you can get an INF file to click into place.
A second alternative is to goto
http://www.hp.com
See if they have the specific driver for your printer (I bet they do). Once downloaded, then point your browse button to the sub-directory where the downloaded driver INF file is.

have driven myself crazy trying to get the right driver (finstall.dll cab12) for windows 98 (a hp laserjet 4mplus printer)from the hp website! None of the win98 drivers bundles had the finstall.dll file included! Cd rom was lent & not returned yet!
