Subject: HP Director Script ErrorOS: Win 98 SECPU/Ram: AMD Duron 850mhz/128 DDR |
Comment: I used to use HP Director for about 2 weeks already. However, today, as I want to scan, I encountered a Script Error with the following info: Line: 64 Char: 9 Error: Library not registered Code: 0 URL: C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bbfe\director\director3.htm ...and asking me if I want to run the scripts on this page. Clicking yes or no doesn't do anything. I already uninstalled and reinstalled twice, but the same error appears. By the way, I'm using HP 1315.

Reply: (edit)Hi Mvmk7 Try visiting the path you have provided & find if a file is corrupted. However if you are starting a scan & such an error occurs then by clicking yes it works as it happens to me also but I don't bother about that, in your case it is not working in either way so it is better to check that file if it has been corrupted still better if you can replace the file. If it doesn't helps shout back Regards Naman Jandial

Reply: (edit)Hi Naman, Thank you very much for replying, I already opened the file itself. It's a blank light blue page with HP logo on the left side, nothin more, and doesn't indicate that the file is corrupted. Thanks, mvmk7

Reply: (edit)Ugh, I'm having the exact same problem, just got the HP All-In-One 1315xi yesterday. I've been trying all day to fix it. I suppose I'll give that link a try. Have you fixed your problem yet?

Reply: (edit)That happens to me too, on my hp psc 2410 all in one. I figd out it may be because of xp-sp2 but it did do no good even if I uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times with different setup conditions like, no firewall, no antispywares, no antivirus, no photoshop, no cameras etc. One thing remained that I did not do is a fresh WIN XP install but my win xp coming with SP2 to my new laptop Toshiba m35x and no chance to uninstall the sp2. I wonder why HP cannot solve this problem?.?

Reply: (edit)A lot of times Script errors are a result of a previous version of the Director installed and a complete uninstall of the software not being done. Try uninstalling the software - both from the cd, and add/remove programs. On the 1315xi, check the cd version - if it 4.2 - insert the cd (cancel install if it starts). Then go into My Computer/your cd rom drive where the cd is-right click and open. Click and open util folder/then click and open ccc folder. On Windows XP/2000 only - click on uninstall_L4 - on 98/ME click on uninstall_L3 Then go into program files, HP folder and physically delete the Digital Imaging folder. Then, before reboot - go into start/run/msconfig and disable all programs (leave scanreg and task monitor checked on Windows 98/ME - 2000 does not have a msconfig). Reboot the pc and try installing the software - that shud clear up the script errors. For version 3.5 - insert cd - go to start/run - browze to cd - search util/ccc/uninstall.bat. In the run box put a space then 4 after bat for xp - space then3 for 98/ME. reboot and install again - 9 out of 10 times, deleting the Digital Imaging folder from the HP folder will correct script errors. Hope this helps!
