HP Deskjet 845c install not working

Yesterday I reinstalled everything. It was difficult to find most of the drivers, some things are still not working, such as my printer. I have two usb ports, one in the back which I'm guessing is "USB Root Hub" in the system control panel, and one in the front. My problem is that I cannot install the HP Deskjet 845c drivers because the installation cannot find it connected. I've tried connecting it to both USB ports, and the control panel says they're working properly. How can I get it working?

Do you have any other USB devices? If so, try one of them in the USB port to see if it is in fact working. If you don't have any other devices to test with then go to device manager and remove the offending USB ports. Re-boot with the printer connected to the port. Windows should re-install the USB ports and then find the printer and ask for the drivers. I am assuming that your USB ports worked properly before the re-install.

Hi, SHUT DOWN. Unplug your Printer. Boot up in SAFE MODE and remove all USB references. Reboot in NORMAL MODE and let Windows reinstall the USB PORTS. Install the drivers for your printer. SHUT DOWN. Plug your printer in and reboot. Windows should find the printer and install it or at least ask the path to the drivers. Good Luck James
