HP Deskjet 693c Problem

This problem has been buging me for a long time.....(The black ink cartige spools out to much ink and smears it all over the paper, then looks like a peice of shit when its done), i have sent it to some people in CompUSA, they said buy a new ink cartige, i payed for it, of course it didn't work.....and yes dont bug me about cleaning the tip of the cartige or cleaning it through HP's useless program it came with. I have tried everything, it has worked fine when i first used it for about 6 months, then one day, like most hardware components....poof. Im thinking somehow a virus got in its little bit of ram somewhere. (Yes it has the same problem on all the comps i've tried it) Im just getin to the point where i take a hammer and beat the thing to hell now.....could someone tell me something to stop me?

No kidding !! We have a 693c which is used for VERY LOW VOLUME. We're lucky if we print 300 sheets a year. I can state with absolute certainty that this printer has more WASTE than production, in the last year we wasted over 3x trying to get this thing to print right. After printing the first 100 or so pages we had to spring for new cartridges (about $50.00) Our cost of ownership is far exceeding all the other costs associated with getting a printed page to our clients (INCLUDING LABOR). Don't know, Don't care - this printer is a loser - period.
