Hello there, the last few weeks I can not print from a certain software program. The software program is ICETCP. The printer, prints through windows perfectly, but not through ICETCP. Sometimes I get the following message
"An illegal operation error, HPFPEM13 caused a General Protection Fault in module HPFC1613.dll"

I have phoned HP, several times, and they have suggested that I Re-install drivers manually and disabled "Print Cartridge Query", "Bidirectional Communication", "Lauch Toolbox when printing" , "Windows Printing Technology".

That still didnt work. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

Thanks in advance
Quinnicus.

A General Protection Fault (GPF) occurs when a Windows application (running in standard or 386 enhanced mode) attempts to use memory space it does not have access to. This can corrupt other code that already occupies that space in memory.
Are you positive the .dlls mentioned are the latest versions?
Older versions can & do get installed over newer versions.
You haven't listed an OS so I'll end my comments here.

RE: PH 017

Thanks for the reply, to follow up:-
O/S = Windows95 (all are)
Yes I do have the latest drivers. I have also installed them by the setup file, and manually.

Also, on 2 computers, this problem was fixed last week, by diableing bi-directional communication. This week it has come back again. Another computer, was fixed by all the suggestions. And now I have a further 2 more PC's that arnt working. Its only with the 710c printers. Thats the weird thing.

Thanks again.

Have you tried doing an end task on all other programs to see if you can pin it down to some paticular pgm running in the background, such as a Virus pgm, or a Scanner pgm. Find Fast can be problematic as well.
Is the OS w95a or newer?

Yes I have, that was one of the first things Everything except for explorer and systray. Did not affect anything. Something is telling me that its server side. Looks like im going to have to look closely at the server sides of things. Thank you very much though, most appreciated.
