Hello Dears,
I have a movie file with extension [XviD]_chunk_1. But I am unable to open it in the usual palyers. Is it a compressed format? I have tried by installing k-lite codecs and also Ace mega codecs but to no avail. Please tell me how to view this movie.
Regards.

Abhijit

It sounds like it is a movie that has been split up into smaller chunks. You maye find that the size of the move is 1.44MB, 650MB or 700MB. Try looking for chunk 2? Although if you rename the extension to xvid, or whatever the original extension was. (See www.xvid.org)

I have also installed the xvid codec XviD-1.0.3-20122004 from xvid team (koepi). But, still the movie file could not be opened. It seems to me that firstly this file needs to be decompressed and then decoded or something like that.

Try finding chunk_2 and rejoining the files. They have been split to allow copying to recordable media.
