Iam using a local area network containing 8 computers through winproxy program which working very efficiant and o.k.
THE MAIN SERVER OF MY NETWORK is connecting to sudannet. we are using Win 98 with 400 mh, the mirc32 program is available in all the computers. But i can only get connected to the mirc chat through the server but not to any of the rest of my computers.Would you please inform me about the win proxy and why it doesnot supporting the chat throuh my network to other computers than the server? what the suitable programm of free download version, site, size could support my computers and my server win98 and nor NT niether win 2000 .
with my thanks

With Win98 2nd Edition try to install the ICS (Internet Connection Sharing - perhaps it will run (in my computer it does not) - if it runs it's better than any proxy.

It's nearly impossible chatting through a proxy - I am also searching for a solution.

Solution: download SocksCap at http://www.socks.nec.com/reference/sockscap.html

This program redirects any program to a proxy server which you can define. It works great with Microsoft Chat.
