how to update Win98se shell32.dll

hi team......i need to update the Win98se " shell32.dll " because it is having problems reading my 120GB hard drive.... i just dont know how to update or where to get it.

As Derek's link indicates, 98 begins to have problems with drives approximately that size so there's a good chance that's the reason.
Another problem is with faster cpus that can shut down too soon causing hard drive data loss. This patch should fix that.
Although it's unlikely shell32.dll is a factor with large drive problems there is an update for it here. The 98 section lists a file, shel95.dll. That is the updated shell32.dll and the installation process will rename it correctly. Just download and run Q313829.exe.

You should probably check the date of your existing shell32.dll should you decide to run the upgrade. It's an internet explorer update and if you have IE 6 you may already have a newer version. The date of the Q313829 version is 12-06-01.
I'm running IE 5.5 sp2 and have the 12-06-01 version.

I also doubt that shell32.dll is your problem, but to check on DLL file versions go to this MS web site.
