Speed disk is the most commonly used component of Norton utilities. To use, copy the following files off your disk:
N32userl.dll
N32dlist.dll
N432dlistu.dll
Sd32eng.dll
S32guil.dll
S32dmapl.dll
Nuabout.dll
Nusplash.dll
Tkke16l.dll
Tkke32l.dll
symkrnll.dll
symkrnll.vxd
Sd32vxd.vxd
S32fatL.dll
S32utill.dll
S32krnll.dll
Sd32.exe
Image32.exe

Now copy the following file to C:\Windows\System
S32stat.dll

Now copy the following files to C:\Program files\Common Files\Symantec Shared
Logger.exe
Loggerps.dll

Now double-click on sevinst.exe

Then double-click on Sd32.exe

Use speed disk!!!

The first 18 files go into C:\Program Files\Norton Utilities and you need to add 1 more file to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared The file is called symmigr8.dll

And exactly how does this "unbloat" scandisk?
It looks more like an install.

IE: Why would I want to do this?

It un-bloats it by removing all of the useless dlls that norton utilities classifies as ""basefiles"" but are really only used by one or more programs.

But, whether the files are there or not, and whether they are used or not, won't have any affect on running Speedisk.

So, is the "bloat" you are saving, disk space? In this age of multi GB disk drives, why would one really care.

Also, Diskdoctor is a frequently used utility, since it provides better diagnostic capabilities than Scandisk.
And, CleanSweep that is an excellent uninstaller.

To add diskdoctor, just add the file ndd.exe and ndd32.exe (it works), but I use just plain old windows scandisk.
