I want to know both the ways.I will be highly thankful to you Slade If u guide me.
I need 2 things.
1.Want to know the IP address with whom I am chatting.I donot know any thing about that person.
2.I know the IP address but I want to know other data.
Please guide for both queries

what chat software and what servers are you using? this makes a big difference,cuz some chat servers use a proxy to block those requests

if you're using mIRC or pIRCh on most any server except talkcity,than i can help.

get this program called Neowatch from neoworx.com, i was in icq one day and the person i was chatting with sent me something and this program gave me her IP,her ISP,etc

neowatch is a personal firewall that blocks out ppl trying to exploit the open ports on your computer when ur online

NeoTrace, this program allows you to type in any IP address and it will trace the IP address to the source along with the servers, it can also show the IP owners address and telephone number if appicable.

sounds like useless information... chances are the person is on AOhell, and thats all the information you're gonna get without having a *GOOD* friend at AOL to help you identify the person on the other end.

easy, when chatting with them , use netstat at command prompt. Once that gives you the IP address, then use tracert to see the direct route and all hops to the user...
