I purchased a laptop and i want to add an external cd burner to it, but i wish to know if my computer is either a USB 1.1 or USB 2.0.
The place where i bought it didnt know. The manufacturers web site provides no info about the version, is there any program that could tell me?

Try this:
Right Click 'My Computer', then-
Properties,Device Manager

At bottom of list, click the (+) beside 'USB Controllers'

This may show you the ID of the USB and you can go from there...

I am using Win98. I found my USB Version here:

Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools,
System Information.

Select "TOOLS"
Select "SOFTWARE ENVIORNMENT"
Select "KERNEL DRIVERS"

My Version Of USB was listed there.
