I took a look at the Bellsouth webpage you mentioned. My opinion is that you will probably need "Call Forwarding" Phone service for this. I had used a similar service from "BuzzMe.com" and Call Forwarding was required. As for how this gets into your computer and your Windows 98, that is simple. When you complete your registration with Bellsouth (or whatever company you arrange this type of service with), you will probably be instructed to download an "applet" - a type of software download from Bellsouth's Website to the appropriate Folder(s) in your computer. The applet download/install may also be done automatically by Bellsouth as soon as you have satisfied their registration requirements. In any event, you should get online instructions about the applet. Once the applet download is successful, the service begins automatically whenever you are using the Internet.

I don't know about Bell South but I use Callwave and it's free. You only have to pay Bell South 1 dollar per month to forward the call.

I understand that a screen will come up on the computer that I can answer the call if I decide to or forward the call to voice mail. That is what I want in case my husband calls from work where I can answer that call.

As I have read through the many posts. I cannot believe all of these people spent money on cumputers and have absolutly no clue on how to use them. Most products or services have TOLL FREE help numbers so one as dim as all of you can recieve help. I think that anyone buying a PC should be made to produce a valid elemetary graduation diplomia. Most of the posts I have read here are incomplete or make no sense. I shake my head in shame at all of you.

Firstly, for all of you fine obviously very intelligent people who have posted their full names and or phone numbers, why did you not also post your Social Security number & Credit Card number? If you read the website address do you see where it says 'BellSouth' anywhere? No, you don't. It says 'http://www.computing.net'. Which leads me to belive that this is not a website of BellSouth. So, therefore, one would not give out personal information to order a service.
And after reading through all these posts, I find that none of you will ever be able to get anything besides 'Gator' to work properly on your machines.
So, I adivse all of you to go forth and purchase a WebTV, and if you do reach a point in your lives where 'You can't be online and miss so called important phone calls' the time has then came for you to get a second phone line.
