I don't know how to open the index.dat file in the Cookies folder. Every time I double click it, the MediaPlayer loads but said that it doesn't support the format.

index.dat can give a few secrets to those nice people at the police dept about what youve been doing on the web. goto http://www.webroot.com and download IE washer to get rid of it each time.

You don't need to download anything. Open it with notepad. Then under edit, click word wrap. To delete, simply exit windows and delete it from dos. It will rebuild itself as an empty file on boot. I use an old copy of Guard Dog and told it to prompt me so I can deny access to index.dat if I want to.
