I was wondering if it were possible to make your own .wav files (or "*.wav" as it says in my files)? I wanted some new start-up music when I boot up my PC, maybe just a tiny bit of a song? I'm not sure if this is even possible, but please let me know :)

You can create voice WAV files with a microphone connected to your sound card and using the windows Sound Recorder. Music WAV files can be created by connecting the output of a stereo system/radio or whatever to the `line input' of your sound card. The windows Sound Recorder is ok for very short recordings. For long recordings you will need a WAV recording/editing program like CoolEdit or SoundForge.

If you wanted to replace some of your system sounds with your own, you will have to name your own sounds the same as the ones you are replacing (so the PC can play them). Cut and paste the original sounds into a spare folder for safe keeping, then copy your own into the original location.
