Must be partitioned, partition must be active and the boot files properly installed.

What version of dos?
What size hard drive?
What is the current state of the hard drive--new, used, used with stuff on it you want to save?
Is it already partitioned and formatted using the dos version you plan on installilng?
Motherboard and/or cpu to which it's to be attached.

thanks to and also to win7 OS
almost 10 months i used this software

this webbite will help to make hdd bootable

ignore some message just download "WAI4.ISO"
need also OS in iso format

extract the files or open using virtual cd
copy all files to hdd "make sure it is formatted in NTFS"

I think it work to you
i am noob also

my laptop is broken like all key in keyboard,no cd/dvd,no floppy also
but it works

Interesting but the poster has not returned since May 2011 so it looks unlikely he will be seen again. Note that this is W95/98 forum and poster says he only has DOS - but who knows.
