Reply: (edit)You will need some sort of communication software to transfer data via the parallel port. I've used LapLink at work and it works great (just a little slow, but that's more a result of LPT speed limits).

Reply: (edit)I remember a software program called Brooklyn Bridge that did this. I think it was dos-based tho. Also dos 6.22 and maybe earlier versions had a utility that did this.

Reply: (edit)DCC is right. If you have Win 98 you can use DIRECT CABLE CONNECTION (DCC) It works very well. I have used it quite often. If it's not installed go to add/remove programs windows setup and install it from your 98 disc. I use the printer port (LPT) haven't had much luck with null modem cable. You will need a DCC cable that you can get at about any comp store. Even WalMart.

Reply: (edit)DCC's given you most of them... here's one more. http://www.lpt.com/Support/DCC-SetUp/dcc-setup.htm and http://kime.net/directcc/directcc95.htm relates to '95 but most should apply to '98 equally well.
