hello!
everyone can anyone please tell me step by step how to install a cd burner.
your help will be appreciated.thankzzz much jungleboy.

I'm not trying to be smart, but, if this is a new burner doesn't it have an installation manual.
All you have to do is remove the case cover pop out the cover on the 5 1/2 inch bay, and install the burner the same way the cd-rom is installed. Be sure to set the jumper to master and change the one on the cd-rom to slave. Find the plug on the ribbon wire that attaches to the cd-rom, and plug it into the burner the same way.
Find a power plug and plug it in.
Windows, and your bios will recognize the drive and it will be operational when you boot to windows.
You will have to install cd burning software for it to be able to burn cd's.
After you plug the burner in, be sure to check and make sure you didn't pull too hard on the ribbon cable, and loosen it at the motherboard connector. ALSO, be sure to hold onto the metal computer case, whenever touching anything inside, as static electricity can KILL a computer and it's components.

Just to add that the manual is often on the CD itself. Pop it in holding shift down (so it doesn't load). Then browse the folders to see if one says "manual" or similar.
It's usually a .pdf file so if you have Acrobat Reader (most folks have collected it sometime) you can print it out before you install.
