How to insert animated graphics?

I was wondering how to insert an animated graphic file like a smiley or any other animated file into a post on a forum like this one. I believe you have to copy the code of the animated file? if so how do you do that exactly?

1. locate a GIF file you want. 2. copy the image url, including the HTTP part 3. Paste URL in "Image URL:" box below the "Submit Follow Up" bar (see below.)
The image will be displayed below whatever you type in this box.

Simple, Cricket. Whenever you see a .gif you would like to keep, just right click on the image, choose "save picture as", then put in your folder of choice! I got the little dancin' dude last week & sent it to others in E-mails.
