how to get my 12 gig hard drive back?

I have just fdisked my new hard drive but messed it up and now it says its only 504m Its a Samsung sv1296a 12 gig really I did get it to shoe 8 gig the first time I did it,when it gave me the option on fat32. Now it won't do that and just sets up at 504 when I format and no fat32 in fdisk HELP>>thanks

Does your bios support LBA (logical block addressing). If it does then set you primary master in your BIOS to LBA enabled.
If it does not then your drive probably had something that fools the system into thinking it does support LBA. Western Digital drives have a program called "drive master" or something like that, just for this purpose. It alows you to put a larger drive on a system that can only handle a 540 meg drive...

Go to www.maxtor.com and download "Maxblast" or "Ez-Drive" disk manager program.
