I would like to be able to access my network from the command promt after booting with a Win98 boot disk. I would like all files that are needed to enable network connections to be contained on the boot disk. I've had no luck on my own.

I'm pretty sure that you will need some files that should have come with your network card. I havn't done this in a while, but I think for me I would load NE2000.com followed by LSL.exe followed by IPXODI.exe and that would give my computer the ablility to share files and see other people's shares.
Go to a command prompt and type NET /? to see all of the NET commands that you will need to learn.
Good luck.
