How to Enable DMA?

Whenever I play DVD on my computer it gives me warning that Playback performance will be degrade please enable DMA but I don't know how to do this. Caould anyone explain me this How to do in Win 2K as well as Win 98 as I have both installed on my system

I don't know if its the same way as Windows 2000 but in Windows 98 you simply right click on "My Computer" go to "Properties", then click on thr "Device Manager" tab, after this you will see a list of system devices, click on the + that reads "Disk Drives", you will then see your available disk drives, now you must double click on your hard drive (On mine it says "GENERIC IDE DISK TYPE46"). Once You have double clicked on your hard drive a window will pop-up, go to the the "Settings" tab, there you will find a checkbox that says DMA, click on the box to enable it.

Randy is right but your DVD warning is about your DMA on your DVD palyer not the hard drive Do the same as randy said but go to CD-ROM in device manager instead of disk drives and double on your dvd player and the rest like randy said

While your there, make sure that the DVD's DMA box is also checked. You can find it under CDROM. Just repeat Randy's directions to accomplish.
